Started slipping on the way back from Ameli Island/Porsche Reunion today. Cost of parts? How many hours of labor? What else should be done while doing it? Should I go to an aftermarket clutch? 48K miles, 2002 TT. Too bummed to search...c

depends on your goals for torque. if you want 600 ft/lb capacity a dual mass flywheel sachs clutch and 764 p/p will work. 1500$ plus labor with is about 15 hrs.

if your looking to go bigger triple disk carbon fiber clutch is 4000$ plus labor and holds 1000 ft/lbs
triple disk tilton cerrametallic os about 3000$

32krazy-thanks-My engine is stock except for a programmable chip. It has enough powerful for me. I want to replace it with a stock equivalent couch, or a mild upgrade, to assure long-er life..

BTW-I determined that the clutch was slipping by the rpms increasing rapidly as shown by the tach under hard acceleration without a direct corresponding increase in speed-at first thinking it was the sound of the turbo..c

You are probably right that it's slipping Doc. The Sachs Race Engineering set-up (often called the 2.5) drives like stock and is only a little more cost than factory at a deal. It's basically like factory +. We always have them in stock ready to ship if I can help out. Feel free to reach out anytime. talk to sam and have him explain to you why if you're "stock" ( just flashed ) you "need" more than the oem sachs parts with the only upgrade being a gt2 unsprung disc ( as opposed to the oem "sprung" disc..). if you plan to eventually upgrade your power levels above 600?? then sure, go with that 764 plate. otherwise? save the few hundred.

but I'm at ( +? ) 475 rwhp and i'll never have a clutch issue with the oem sachs w gt2 disc.

How many miles are on your car?

The dual mass wears out and so do some other not so often mentioned parts.
Kevin's kit comes with advice in this area and is well documented in this forum.

I know there are lots of suppliers similar to your screen name but I haven't dealt with them to understand what knowledge comes with their pricing structure.

Just found out that the GT2 clutch kit is not plug and play-hydraulics upgrade necessary...again, thanks so much-not as over whelmed as I was....c

I think the GT2 mentions in this thread were only to replace the stock clutch disc with the GT2 disc. It is not necessary to change your stock clutch hydraulics if you don't want to.
