Help me decide what to do... guy wants to buy my car
Help me decide what to do...
I have an 03 Black on Brown with 16k miles in brand new condition. No mods, well maintained, no issues. I had zero interest in selling, until I was approached by a colleague who had someone who wanted to buy my car. I stupidly and randomly said I wouldn't take less than 56k... Thinking that would ward them off, since its quite a bit more than I paid for it.... anyhow, they are still interested and I am having some remorseful thoughts.
Its more than I bought it for..but I feel like I could turn around and get a 40grand 996tt and be equally happy. should I sell it, or will I regret it?
For the record... its not for sale, or listed anywhere, just need some like-minded people to help me think this through.

I have an 03 6TT in similar condition, with 22,500 miles. Personally, I would not sale mine for $56K in the hopes I could replace it with a $40K car and pocket the diff. You could spend a lot of money on that $40K car and still have a car worth $16K less than the one you have now. Just my opinion.

How long have you had it and how many miles did you put on?
I'd keep it unless you want the $ now.
Value of a low mile unmolested one will keep going up as long as all other $ keeps going up too.

k perfect.. seems pretty unanimous. Not worth loosing my baby at that price.
thanks folks, made the decision easier. I'll email him and let him know.

The 120,000 km turbos are found in the CDN $50k range. Yours is well over $56k.. I'd say well over $65k imho.
Gone are the days when the high mileage $35k turbos were available.

Throw a much higher price to him and let him pass on it. Ask for $65k and tell him at that price you'd be happy to sell but for nothing less. Then when he says it's too much you can keep your car guilt free.
If he goes for $65k then take the money and run.

56K is way too cheap IMO. I would say low to mid 60's USD. Maybe more depending on the options or if it is X50.
