Exhaust downgrade question
I just switched my exhaust from a 2 1/2" Kline knock off (Looks just like Kline but has no markings on it) to a stock exhaust. I did it because i could not tolerate the noise/drone anymore. The driving experience is much better now, this wifey it all kinds of happy. Still seems to pull good but i can't tell for sure as it's raining and tires were spinning just like before. I have X50 car with forge ICs, Si hoses and DVs, 1 bar waste gate actuators and a Cobb Sambo tune. Wondering what people would guess for the possible power loss with the switch?

Kline quotes a 21hp gain with the 100 cell cats, 16hp with 200cpi.
I don't think I could feel 21hp at this point, it's like 4%.
"Sounds" like you're happy though, and that's really what matters!

Maybe a little too quite though. I may do the bypass mod to give it a little more character. Going to start to focus on suspension for some upcoming track days. The stocks exhaust will probably shave 1-2 seconds off my Laguna Seca lap time because i wont need to let off and roll through turn 6 at the sound meter.

Third,
Feel free to give me a call and send some pictures over. Maybe we can help out. It's come to our attention that there were some of those systems out there and we want to help. We have gotten this under control the last several years and all Kline systems are now numbered. As you read one of the great benefits of the Kline is no drone.
Hope to talk soon and help you out!

It is a kline, it is laser cut into the mtg brackets where I could not see it until I had it removed. They say it is one of the early units. Kline has asked me to ship it back to them and they are going to see what they can do. Sambo/Kline showing incredible customer service. Especially considering I did not buy it, came on the car. I will update when I have some more info. Leaving for Mexico to surf so I may be a while.

With a tune, you're going to want a higher flow exhaust otherwise too much heat will build up. Nothing wrong with the stock exhaust, but I'd flash it back to stock x50 parameters if that's the exhaust you're using.

I am going to do a 3 gear pull log and sen it to Sambo for recommendations. Hopefully i will have the Kline back on before the next track day. The Cobb is a wonderful tool.

Is it possible and is there any benefit to changing out the stock 600 cell ( I think) cats for say 200 cell units with the stock exhaust if you have a tune? Personally I'm not unhappy with my stock exhaust sound.
