How did the $14k in maintenance break down??

I had the choice between a 993 with miles in the teens or one with 50k miles. The price difference ten years ago was about $20k. I chose the one with 50k miles. If you pay a premium for a low mileage car, and that premium is based purely on the mileage, then you might be hesitant to drive it very much. On the other hand, buy a mid mileage or high mileage car and drive it without thinking about the mileage. That's what I chose and I've put about 25k miles on the car in ten years.
If I wanted to have a car to drive without regard to mileage, I would go mid to high mileage and pick one with full maintenance records. If it means anything, I spend less now on maintenance on my higher mileage cars than I did when they had less mileage; because now they are sorted out. Porsche maintenance seems to be fairly reasonable once you get the early issues resolved. Not saying something can't pop up, but for me it hasn't been often. Even my SC that's 38 years old doesn't require much other than tune ups, brakes, and fluid flushes, maybe a clutch or alternator every 15 years.

Almost $4k was new dash and some interior restoration, it has sport seats and the hard backs need to be painted. The balance was new clutch, tune up along with other items that will show details when I see receipts later today.
I do drive my cars and am choosing a high mileage car with records in lieu of lower miles/mods for approx $15k less. Hopefully the right decision.

Yes, done deal. wiring $ Monday, seems to be a great car per receipts, PPI, and totally stock with exception of sport seats. Also I think a great value, looking forward to picking the car up in a couple weeks. Road trip from Cali to Colorado

Congrats!
I bought my car with 47k miles on it 1 1/2 years ago. It now has 55k miles on it. I worry about putting too many miles on it.
My '99 996 had 133k on it when I bought it. I never gave the mileage a second thought. I drove that car everywhere in all kinds of weather.
I love the freedom that higher mileage brings. But then I like to drive my cars rather than look at them. A rock chip is a badge of honor rather than something to pee my pants over.
