I'd encourage anyone to take a look at the 997.1 TT choices out there. Under $60k are accident cars, or at least tiptronic and or cabrio. I know cause I'm actively looking... that article was shear crap written to be picked up by the various car blogs.

I liked the article. Made me laugh.

I still don't understand the runny eggs reference. Especially on the updated lights of the turbos and 03+ 996's.

Agreed. The two cars referenced to make the author's point were a car that had accident history and one that was a tip with grey interior.

I looked at autotrader earlier today as I still have a search query setup from when I was looking and there are NO 997.1 manuals under $60k. The tip car with grey interior would be a a $70k car if it were a manual and maybe a little higher if it had a different color interior.

I don't understand the articles bashing or pitting the 996 vs. the 997. A side from different styling queues they both suffer from similar issues such as coolant pipe and clutch slave failures.

My theory is buy what you like and can afford. Maybe one of these days I'll have one of each.

I know that 45k car, it's very rough in person and it was a significant wreck. You don't get somethin for nuthin, and there ain't no such thing as a cheap turbo. Either pay now or later.....

When someone props up anything by crapping over an alternative, it's time to click back.

The article isnt isn't worth the few bits of download it took. I stopped reading pretty quickly.

Bad article. Author is neither knowledgeable nor intelligent enough to know that that is not how to write a worthwhile article.

Agree, he doesn't know anything about Porsche Turbos or he would understand that they're both great cars.

Someone pointed out in the comment section that these Turbos arent that cheap, and that cars on Rennlist are far more expensive. His response to that was that rennlisters are insane.

Idiot!
