Thanks again for the help guys - I got the motor and trans out of the car today, started at about 9 and finished around 2. Went better than expected. The worst part was getting coolant everywhere.

Now I start the research on how to pin these coolant lines and start ordering some parts!

Wasn't visible in the pics I posted but the tech clamps the coolant lines and traps the coolant in the engine. In fact in some other photos one can see the open coolant lines with coolant clearly visible.

I have some other pics -- of my car -- when the hoses were clamped:

Clamps are a great idea, should have done that.....mental note made.

On another note, after checking out the rubber on the engine, I've noticed quite a few of the hoses like in the picture. Obviously the rught parts, but they don't look original and look newer and are made by Gates. Can anyone verify that the original hoses looked like this, or tell me if they think these have been replaced? I bought the car used and it didn't have any record of having hoses replaced, but you never know.

porsche part # and made in spain so likely oem replacement parts. could have been for a broken hose or simply maintenence replacement due to age

Well they're definitely genuine as they have the Porsche logo on them.

I was wondering about how many hours does it take to remove the engine, transmission and drivetrain typically? Thanks
