This kind of stuff has been going on among German automakers and German suppliers since the automobile was invented there. All the founding families know each other well and they are all very intertwined.

I agree, seems like someone is making a mountain out of molehill, and sounds like it should be common place...why would carmakers not use their collective buying powers to source better priced materials, to likely be passed down to consumers?
