You don't need radio code for cdr23. As long as you are using the original cdr23 that came with the car then the car will recognize it.

I know my car certainly asked for the code when I removed the head unit last night. Of course, I bought the car used so I'm not sure if it was changed, but I highly doubt it. Thankfully, I had radio code in the owners manual booklet.

was this for the CDR-23?

the 23 is proving to be very different from other head units.

I have a CDR23 in my '03. I tried the kit and I did not need a code after unplugging it. You can do a google search on CDR23 radio code and you will see what I mean.

FWIW: I am using a fm transmitter for now and it works fine but I am still searching for a better solution while keeping factory head unit.

For those that have an earlier car without MOST, Daves solution is a great option.

I can verify that you do not need the code for the CDR23. I've had my radio in and out a few times along with multiple disconnects of battery and it has never asked for it.

that is why it's a beta test... I'm really bummed it won't work with the CDR-23. Seems like there should be an easier solution, but I have not found it. I really appreciate the beta testers and their willingness to give it a go. Bottom line, the kit works with pre-MOST head units, for now.

Thank you Dave,

Again, I have not yet tried my kit on my CDR-23 unit so that you have a double confirmation of incompatibility with the post MOST head units, however when I get a chance to (not this wkdn but next) i'll post my findings and we'll go from there.

Appreciate your contributions to the 911 Community.

Cheers

Default ? On function

Dave

Great that you are doing this but I have a couple questions

How do you accept or reject an incoming call? On the phone or is there a button active in the radio or installed somewhere?

Voice commands work on the phone?

Does a call mute the other audio automatically?
Thanks

I'm really more interested in the music side vs calls...do you have any of these left...still need input?

You can use either the phone or the BT to accept or reject calls. I have an Iphone and can use Siri as well through the BT device. The head unit has to be on "Aux" for your device to be streamed through the car. I have yet to try it with a radio station on to see if it will interrupt mostly because I just stream all of my music with my phone now and disregard any FM or AM stations. While it's playing my music and I make a call or receive a call it does pause the music and I can go about my business. Navigation voice on my phone comes over the car audio clearly while streaming my music as well. I will also say that the clarity in music that is being streamed is very good quality and it doesn't seem to compress in anyway making the clarity somewhat dull like certain BT pairing devices do.

Looks like I'll be the guinea pig for the PCM1. Will have to find a spot for the receiver as I don't have a dash cubby owing to my Minecraft-esque Nav.

All gone. Strangely I posted this thread on the Carrera and Boxster forums as well, not much interest or action on the Boxster forum, strange. And the Carrera forum guys just wanted to argue. Thanks Turbo guys!

I was tempted, but I have a AUX cable already, and not sure I wanted to sacrifice iPod music in AUX to get Bluetooth.
