Default New 996tt owner... FINAlLY!!!

So after what seemed like a lifetime of searching/looking and test driving several 996tts I finally found mine. A 2002 996tt black on black with ~38k miles on it. Drove it home to Boston from Atlanta last weekend with the old man and it was an amazing trip (excluding the bickering over who gets to drive!). The car was flawless the whole trip! Took it to my indy tech the following Monday and he confirmed it was solid (I had an Indy do PPI in Atlanta before I bought it also) and we discussed some upgrades.

Have a Speedtech 2.5 X-Pipe on order now that will be done hopefully before the driving season is officially over. Next will be a tune and then springs, struts and sway bars.

A few pictures... I'll try post some interior when I get a chance.

Previous owner had the turbo plastidiped so that will be a winter project for me.

Only interior pic I have from the trip back

Congrats. Great looking Porsche.

What part of Boston? Lived in Greater Boston for 20 years. Mostly in Sudbury. Do not miss those long, cold wintahs!

Nice looking car.

Just a heads up: Avoid parking under trees. Those leaves can/will collect in the body water drains and can lead to blocked water drains and water getting into the cabin.

And let your dear Dad drive the car.

Thanks all... I feel the madness taking grip! ha

@eddielasvegas - I live south of Boston in the Mansfield/Foxboro area. The winters are awful... killing me that I wasn't able to get into one a little earlier!

@Macster - Thanks for the advice! That was just outside the hotel on Blacksburg VA on our road trip home. Car will be garaged and trees avoided. He drove the car a lot on the trip and he will definitely be driving it more. He has a 68 911S that he barely drives for many reasons and is thinking of getting into a 997 4S (as more of a daily driver) by next summer so we get to do this whole process again!

Cheers!

Welcome! Nice to see another fellow Masshole here. Should meet up in the spring once the roads get a little nicer

Yes, that would be great. By the looks of your profile you are in W. MA so I'm sure plenty of fun driving out there.

I'm going to drive it right up until the first significant snow (e.g. salt on road) down my way.

Yep out west of I-91. Lots of great roads around here and southern VT. Definitely should do a cruise next year for sure.
