Just realized my passenger footwell front carpet has been cut. Looks like it was cut intentionally to raise up to get to metal floor. Any idea why someone would do this? I'm thinking leak of some kind a/c etc.

I would replace with new and forget about it, could find used if you want to save a few bucks.
