Used to be much lower before EPL flash but now I usually seem to be around 23mpg with mixed driving.

9-10mpg while driving the canyons i live in which is the bulk of most driving i do. though i'll get 17mpg with mixed hi-way/city, though i stay as far away from the city as i can.

i have also on those rare occasions, seen 25mpg+/- on hi-way driven long distance speed limited excursions but only by staying in 5-6th gear(s).

but where is the fun in that?! 25mpg is a somnambulistic commute indeed.

Seriously, how many miles is the average 996tt driven per year? If you are less than 10K miles does it really matter if you are at 12, 15, 17 mpg? After my exhaust change to John's Speedtech I noticed a 2.5 MPG increase because I changed 14 year old O2 sensors. Now I'm hitting 4-6K RPMs on shifts because it sounds awesome and I could care less about the cost of gas. (At this rate I'm still +1 MPG over vs pre O2 change)

At $3 per gallon for 10K miles the difference per year from 12 mpg vs 17 mph is $735. Put your foot through it folks. If you really care about $61 per month for gas you should probably consider a Leaf.

+1, it really doesn't matter, just add fuel when it needs...pay to play...that said, the cars get pretty decent mileage which isn't a bad thing

On a long road trip, since unfortunately one can't just blast across the USA at autobahn speeds, one has to get his kicks by other means and what I like to do on a long road trip for fun and as a challenge is to try to maximize fuel economy while trying to maintain a high (as close to the posted limit, say 75mph) as possible.

In these cases my Turbo has delivered ~26mpg when driven at freeway speeds for long distances at a time -- couple of hundred miles between stops for gasoline.

In my daily driving I still try to avoid usage that really sucks the gas cause I guess I have a bit of my Dad in me and he was a bit frugal in this way. Besides I dislike having to fill up the gas tank any more often than I do already.

When I go over my monthly credit card statement there are charges for: Chevron, Chevron, Chevron, Chevron, Porsche dealer, Chevron, Chevron, Lucky (grocery store), Chevron, Chevron, Chevron, Chevron, Lucky, Chevron, Chevron, Chevron, and Chevron.

18 MPG which I think works out to around 13L per 100km.

Mixed driving that usually includes blasting through a freeway ramp whenever it is clear to do so, or having some fun on a local twisty road that I can make my commute include.

I got in the low 20s MPG driving from Seattle to Portland last year, but I have others cars better suited to distance driving so I don't have many data points on long highway drives.
