Default DIY 3M Nomad Floor Mat for my 996

Outline using an original porsche floor mat

Ready to cut using a scissor

Not easy but not so difficult as i have taken home economics at high school

Original floor mat in place

New one added
Now water proofed & dirt free from vision

It matches my colour profile well😸

Basically, it needs 3 pieces
Each costs hk$200

What's the advantage of this? It's obviously not for aesthetic purposes.

I feel tiring to clean the original floor mat every time after use
besides it provides double protection in rainy weather & reduce road noise
(i use 3M mat in my BMW for long. Even if you buy an all weather plastic mat ( i bought one which costed hk$1500), you will see dirty marks every where a week or so but no such issue for 3M)

It wouldn't work for me. It's a tippy with the pedals on the wrong side of the car. ;->

Nice job.
You could also cut the passenger side larger to cover the dead pedal, put a verticle slit so it lays flat, add a small strip of Velcro, the hook side, to the top of the flap to hold in place.

fob111,
you are so good to spot the main issue at the start
i have tried Velcro but the 3m sticker at stock mat face could not be that strong or i will damage the mat when i need to remove velcro in the future

i come around an idea of using paper clips and all problems have now been solved Open & clip the two mats together
Remove the arms for better look
