Cool 20,000km

Hi. Looks like a 996tt is coming to a driveway to a near me. The loan company said yes. Now the panic and buyers fear. As the title says it has only 20,000km. What should I look out for? I am afraid of the coolant pipe issue and

rear spoiler.

You should watch out for that rear wiper, it can flip down and the wiper blade goes out and scratches the side of your car

Coolant pipes should be way down the list of your concerns. There's a whole thread on what to look out for.

I also read an article that a regularly used non-tracked turbo is better than garage queen to avoid some issues i can't remember now....

Car looks really nice.

Coolant pipes are only a concern if you plan on tracking the car.

Here is thread with details of common issues.

Don't sweat either of those things - they are both fixable even if they end up failing. The coolant deal is overblown if you aren't tracking a lot, and the spoiler won't stop you from driving it at all.

20,000km?
That's ~25km a week, look for somewhere to drive it or continue storing in a nice environment.
Any issues will show up after some actual use.

I suggest you relax ! Just over a year ago I chanced upon a 996TT, '02, with 19500km.
Changed oil and plugs after 5000km prior to putting away for the winter.
To date....odometer reads 33800km. Car is going really well and surprizingly getting minimum
of 30mpg ! [ 10L/ 100km]
I think your concern should be, [ I know mine was ], has the car been driven enough to keep all
the mechanicals/seals etc in good condition.
So, get in and drive and enjoy !!

Finally got it home after a very long day. I went to pick it up it was out of gas. Put a bit in and it developed a miss at #2 cylinder. 2 hours later, turns out the spark plug was wet. On the way to get it inspected, get screw in the tyre. At the inspection center the right head light cut is for RHD countries. Thats when I discover it was not sold by an OPC in Japan, but was imported. Checked the option codes it has country code C38. I have not seen the country code in the online databases. Could anyone share on this?
I did an oil and filter change, 0W-40 made a huge difference with valve train rattle. Air and cabin filters got changed too. Later I will do fuel filter and spark plugs.
On the road the tyre noise was and overall noise was much more and I expected, since the reviews I read and watched all say how quiet the car is. I guess it has the original Pirelli tyres.
I know its fast but my modded 930 feels faster. Very happy still.

Likely the original Pirelli tires - they get very loud when worn. I'd bet a new set will quiet everything down immediately.

Not sure about "C38". That's no country code I'm aware of. Wikipedia has a good article on VIN's.

"CBX" option codes refer to trim.
