I'm not debating, I'm observing and opining.

I actually applaud you and others gutting their 996 Turbo, because when my son inherits my 996 Turbo, it will be worth more if he decides to sell it. I see cars like yours and think..."another one bites the dust".

It's obviously your car to do anything (legally) you want with it. Have fun.

Don't worry about the OEM troll, he does it all the time...

I forgot to ask if you have any track videos or dyno details with the Markski K16s and track tune? I'm getting them installed right now and will be using his custom tune after that.

I've driven basically stock 996TTs and they peg the excitement meter just north of a Prius. Congrats to the OP for modifying the car for his choice of intended use. Have fun and enjoy...

Haha here is a video before the car looks like it does now. I just started going to the track so have been taping to get feedback and got a lot of good things from this one also. Hand placement etc.

And why the legal talk Dock? Road courses are
quite legal. Did anyone mention using the car in a illegal way?

I guarantee the OP is having way more fun with his TT than street folks are. Good call on the dedication to the track.

I was in the market for a 6TT street/track car and accidentally stumbled on my 2005 S 28,000 mile museum piece garage queen, and can't bring myself to track this one.

So I'm now in the market AGAIN for a second track car LOL.

Post more vids!

Really? Just north of a Prius?

You're kidding, right?

So.... You have all these mods and all you do with the car is drive around on the street obeying all traffic laws to a "t"? And no tracking? There is no spirited driving that is 100% within the law. So why do you claim to be such a purist when you you have ruined your car with all these mods? And if a stock car is so awesome and suits you perfectly why did you do them?

I haven't claimed that I am a purist. Some aspects of my car I like to keep OEM. For example, I like to keep my car's interior and exterior in OEM configutations if possible. My smaller dismeter steering wheel was needed because I didn't have enough clearance between the stock steering wheel and my leg.

I think that anyone who believes that a stock 996 Turbo is only just above a Prius in terms of driving excitement is not being serious with their assessment.

Congrats on doing the mods to make the car what you want, look forward to seeing the progression.

I'm keeping my carpet but the track is where you can really enjoy what these cars have to offer.
Bad *** with a tune and some minor suspension mods, people really owe it to themselves to go that far, and do a few laps.

Based on what I've seen at the track, many other sports cars have taken 10-15 years to catch up to the 996 turbo.
