Default Anyone have a Durametric in the NYC area?

I'm in Westchester County (Hsartsdale) and will be buying one myself but hoping to diagnose this weekend.

My car has told me to "Check Engine. Got to Workshop."

Happy to meet anyone in the 5 boroughs, Jersey, CT or Long Island to see what's up with my car.

Thanks!

- Dave

If you just want to find out the codes you can swing by an Advanced Auto and they will scan the car for free. This will at least tell you the codes and give you a direction to go. If you need to look into specific manufacturer codes stored in air bag or ABS modules you will need a Durametric or PIWIS.

We have a PIWIS if you want to come by the shop we can scan it as well.

You could get more information but you would need to do that through data logging and checking actual values. Just reading the code through Durametric will give you the same information as a generic reader or Advanced Auto.

unless someone has a durametric pro the enthuasist version is limited to 3 vin #. most buy it use it and sell it with 2 vins left. if you plug it in even once that vin is recorded and the value of the durametric drops. try a shop with the pro or scan gauge
