Future 996 Turbo Owner?
Hey all,
New to the forums and to Porsche.
I am a BMW guy myself and looking into getting a 996 Turbo in the near future. Just want to drop by and say hello.
Currently driving 01 BMW M3 in Steel Grey 6Speed. She is my pride and joy and I sink money into her all the time with appearance and maintenance.
Some Pictures of how it looks currently.

Well I am in the process of getting my business off the ground and between my current job I can't currently. I hope within a year or year and a half. I am currently reading a ton since I am not super well informed on Porches.

It was cool. Wasn't crazy fast, but I wasn't expecting that. It fit me perfectly. I just wanted to get in and drive all over the country with it. Would love it as our 4th car, gf says it isn't practical...

A BMW guy myself, the 996tt feels like an absolute ROCKET compared to an e46m3 due to the torque difference around 3000 rpms. They feel VERY similar in regards to chassis stiffness with the e46m3 getting the nod on interior styling.
The e46 m3 is a wonderful car that you can toss around and enjoy redlining around on ramps and twisted roads, whereas the 996tt will get you in serious trouble with law enforcement as you approach redline in any gear over 1st. The e46 feels more balanced and nimble but the 996tt is faster and handles much better.
They are a perfect balance if you are planning on owning both!

Can have both for basically the price of a base C7 Vert.

That being said, from Labor Day until maybe the end of January is a great time to buy. You'll see a lot of cars come on the market in the next month or so, especially in the northern areas where people don't want to store their cars for another winter, so they put them up for sale. Generally you'll see lower prices and a better selection during the fall. If you wait until end of February, you'll see prices begin to increase as Spring Car Buying Fever hits and well priced cars won't stay on the market for more than a few days.

Just giving you a hard time. Glad to see some new blood in here. Don't be a stranger. And don't be in a hurry. Enjoy the search. Test drive lots of different cars. Get to know the market.
