Electrical debugging help
Hi Everyone, I have a new to me 2003 911 tt. I had a PPI done where the shop assumed the frunk button did not work. After I got the car I noticed the frunk button opens the rear hatch. I'd like to figure this out so I can open the frunk with the correct button. Any advice on where to start. BTW - my 996 TT journey can be found at http://kels996tt.blogspot.ca/
Appreciate any pointers.

So, I noticed this, but did not really "take note." It looks like both switches are for the rear cover, and both open the rear cover. I'm hoping replacing with the correct switch will do the trick. I removed the sill, the harness does not look tampered with. I'm going to visit my Indy on Fri, hopefully he can confirm my theory.

Yup someone installed the rear switch on both the front and the rear. You need a front switch.
Each switch will only open what the switch was designed for no matter what it is plugged into on the wiring harness side. In other words if you plug a front switch into the rear harness section it will still operate the front switch and vice versa.
