Rear view mirror is a lava lamp
Thought I was tripping, but alas my rear view has decided it would rather be a lava lamp. Anyone here have recent success with getting the auto dim mirror refurbished?

I do not recall the name of the company that repairs these but I found two with a search. I know nothing about either company.
Radar-Mirror.com Mirror Repair are in Texas, and they do a fast turnaround service for around $100
Their address is 4319 Glenhurst, Frisco, TX 75033. Phone is 972-571-7427. E-mail is:info@radar-mirror.com
Another company to rebuild failed mirrors is: Sybesma's Electronics (www.sybesmas.com) in Michigan. Turnaround was less than a week and cost was under $100.
Added: Here's a link to the thread I started regarding the rear view mirror problem in my Turbo. The name of the mirror repair company is in the thread.

I normally park mine in the garage during the heat of the day. Coincidentally this happened after I went to a friends house and the car baked in the sun for a few hours.

Dang.
What the heck kind of fluid does that thing contain? Xenomorph acid blood?
Anyhow, mine didn't leak and based on your post thank goodness.

Nah. I leave my mirror in auto-dim mode all the time. The outside mirrors too. They're fine. Just some kind of manufacturing defect I think does the mirror in.

I had mine redone by a company listed, they stated that the leaking would no longer be an issue Was auto dimming and after repair worked great for the three years up until sold.
