Default Why are 996TT prices all over the place/so many?

Found two 2001s at $40K. One had a ppi just done by an indy garage that I respect. Lots of TTs for sale, but seem to not be selling, even at tHese lower prices. Just wonderin'

Why didn't you buy the one with a PPI?

Used car buyers are most concerned with price and condition, condition and price.

So if a used car doesn't sell, and this applies to Turbo's too, prospective buyers are finding something wrong *with* the condition of the car or if the condition is acceptable the price is too high.

Also, there is the issue of age. A 2001 was probably built in 2000 so the car is going on 16 years old. That's getting up there even by USA standards which IIRC have the average age of a car around 7 or 8 years old.

Your screen name suggests you may be beyond frugal, which is ok in real life, but doesn't really work in the Porsche world. The 996tt were well over $120k-130k when new, and parts/labor reflect that.

The 996tt is not a massive quantity driven product like a toaster oven or Camry. It takes a little more time to sell a Porsche 911 turbo than say a Toyota Camry. This does not mean however, that it does not sell. It's looking for a more discerning buyer.

I'm not sure where you are getting "lots of TTs for sale but seems not to be selling." Every single 996tt I've seen for sale locally have all sold, and there wasn't that many; I can count them on one hand.

Drcheap is an investor in a car dealership in Atlanta. Believe he looks for cars to flip. Forget the name of the place but seems to be sports cars used.

Was it the IMS that gave out or the coolant lines?

I'm still waiting for the answer, it's confusing to think that not all of these cars are priced identically and have not sold the first day they were offered. I must understand these variables that plauge my mind.
