Haha why the yikes for 60 months, too long or too short? (mind I'm 30 and make decent money, have a house payment and other things so couldn't go shorter, and they wouldn't do longer)

They are only original and low miles once. The depreciation curve with miles and mods make the curve start to look like a hockey stick, in the wrong direction.
So going with the yellow one? The way I see it if you really really like yellow + the aero kit you are paying about $2K for it and the clutch and coil packs (if done fairly recent) another $3k. That makes the other bits, like the Motons and links, done for next to nothing.
Then again those mods make me think, as was mentioned, it was driven hard and would have to discount a bit knowing that.
60mos? Scary to me because of no warranty. Worst case you might have a repair bill nearly 50% of purchase price. You can be lucky and only need fluids and 1 clutch before the note is paid. I like to think of any down payment as a savings pot. Make it large enough so that if you need to sell in a year or two you are actually getting some $$$ instead of just eliminating a note.
Good luck

Haha figured as much and no I'm going with the black one with all the documented work with all receipts for less money, cars not going to be a daily I estimate 3k miles a year and not going to be driven hard (don't want to break anything prematurely) I mean don't get me wrong I'll have a little fun here and there but it's going to be in my garage 99% of the time and I'll drive my e36 m3 or cts for my daily. I've been calling a bunch of the warranty companies but even though it only has 43k miles on it they don't do warranties based on age. Still checking around. If anyone has any advice on warranty companies that would do south Florida let me know.

Don't bother with the aftermarket warranty, your starting with a well sorted car. Keep up on the pms items, and this car will reward you with reliability. I can tell you right now that you will exceed the 3k miles a year. These cars are to much fun to not drive. I'm in your age range and by far the best thing I ever bought was my turbo. Enjoy it man these cars are simply put the best value hands down for the money.

15 years old? I'd be shocked to know of any place that would warranty that.
Black? I would personally discount that color but I think it's a minority opinion.
For some reason I thought you were going to put 10K+ miles a year on it and it might be upside down for a while... Too many variables though.
Of those 2 the Black appears the wiser choice.
At this level for a "keeper" car, take your time and look for the options and color you want, the price will come to you with patience.

Prol the least helpful advice; Step up to a 07 or '08. You will be able to get a warranty easier, a lower interest rate and a longer term if you want. For a similar mileage (50K) car, I think 35% more should cover it.

Thank you, I am going to try and keep the mileage down and I agree I think the black is the better choice due to the records book that comes with the car. In regards to the color I had a 981 Cayman a couple years ago in basalt black metallic same color as this car and I absolutely love the color in person. And I would love to get a 997 turbo but those are 70+ and this was the upper level of where I felt comfortable with the payment and insurance with my house and everything. I have a lot of contacts down here that work on these cars so the repairs will be discounted lol, but ya in the future I'll get a 997 as well.

So here is the durametrics for the 996, mind you this 996 has the zero clearance turbos and tune from Kevin at umw, so the redline has been raised which could explain the Rev range 2.

Rev range 2 was 25 hours ago but vehicle is tuned with raised redline

So any opinions on this? Oh and the Rev range 1 and maybe 2 might have been from the test drive, when we first went he did show me how hard it pulls so I don't know where he shifted at but damn this car is fast

Those numbers would not concern me. Range 1 basically means nothing. Too much effort to do the math (I'm sure someone will come along in a minute and do it though), but 334 ignitions is minimal time in Range 2.

EDIT: OK, my rough calculations show about 1/2 second in Range 2.

Yeah, I would not be worried with those numbers. I'm sure someone will tell you to stay away though.

Ya I was thinking with how low it was and the fact it's been tuned with a higher redline that it's not a huge deal, they are willing to do a leak down and compression test and if it passes and I buy the car they won't charge me. I mean they have been really honest and everything, the car is the daily driver of the owner of the porsche shop parkhaus1. I think I'll just take it as is, should I have them do the test?

Looks like a very nice car. If they are willing to do the leak down at no charge...why not just let them. If anything you can get a print out of the results and add them to the receipt folder of the car.

Anyway, Parkhaus is just a few miles from me. They seem to have real nice cars there as well as a really nice workshop. Good luck and enjoy her!!

when they are doing the leak down, have them pop a fresh set of spark plugs in there (at your expense).
