Default How do you keep it up?

My rear spoiler.

Every thread I see about the kit to keep it up ends in "it was so simple. How did I get soaked for $150.00!"

How does the kit work? Anyone have the instructions they wish to share?

I was thinking a long bolt where the hydraulic fitting goes?

Just ask the seller for the install instructions. or Maybe someone else who's done it as well, can post them up for you.

Found this which might help you figure it out.
It's been a while since I installed the kit, but here goes. Open the engine cover and remove the row of nuts holding the cover on the left side. Remove the hydraulic fittings from the two rams that support the spoiler. Remove the bolts holding the hydraulic resevoir. Pull out the resevoir from behind the engine lid cover. Follow the instructions in the kit and remove the insides of the two hydraulic rams. Pull the spoiler up and off the car. Clean up the shells and install the long treaded rods provided and adjust the spoiler to taste. Follow the instructions to alter the wiring to stop the "check spoiler" light from lighting on the dash. You have removed about 15 pounds of useless junk and made your car much less failure prone.

Thanks for the info, but I found that as well and the seller doesn't show pictures because it's simple and he doesn't want us to do it on our own.

I'm hoping someone here has the instructions.

all you really need is a 4 or 5 inch long threaded rod. I don't know the thread specs.
i have mine at a fixed height...about 4 inches

I don't believe the factory set will extend to 4". The coupe extends to 2.4". The cabriolet ram is taller at 3.2", do you have a cab?

I have a coupe.
Yes the picture shows a threaded rod and an oversize nut to go around the fitting. Then 2 nuts to turn it in.
Now I need to figure out how to bypass the dash light.

It's probably not that high...it just feels that way with my aftermarket wing.

You can get the oem aero or gt2 harness but I think it's around $400/500?
you can always get Dave's kit that turns off the dash light for cheaper

^^^^ Really?

Do all that to bypass a switch? The guy selling the bolts on eBay for $150 has instructions on how to do this.

For $500 do I get a trunk monkey that bypasses it for me?

911ROD, if you can remove the pump and disconnect the main wing harness at the connection (behind the passenger taillight bucket) I will tell you which wires you need to solder together to keep the dash warning light from tripping. Post a picture of your connector with the wires showing and I will tell you what to do..

Thanks Kevin
I really don't have room in there for a monkey.

Yes, it's tough to get out. I'd remove the "Y" pipe which will allow you to move the boost hose from the passenger side IC. This will get you enough room. Removing the harness is required if you want the warning light "fixed"
