Laser Jammer ???
I'm finally getting around to hardwiring my V1 since I now have my trans pump running and time for some non mechanical project.
I researched laser Jammers before and almost pulled the trigger but seemed like technology was changing and so were the offensive guns. Anyone here have personal experience or recently over-researched these systems? Not interested in parallel parking, I can do that fine Antilaser Priority seems to be the new king if I'm seeing it correct. Your input good and bad is appreciated.
V1 swap to newer competitor is another change I'd consider but the V1 has saved my bacon several times in years past so I bought a new one last year, just haven't used it much.

I had the Beltronics STiR Plus with Laser Interceptor on my 997.2. It was great setup. I didn't want to go through the trouble of uninstalling everything since it is all remote mounted so when I sold that car (in 2014) I let it all go with it.
I didn't buy anything else for my cars since then because there has been a lot of changes on both sides of the field like you said and I was waiting to see where things landed.
As far as compared with V1... There isn't really a comparison. I swore by V1 until I used this. False readings dropped drastically, I felt like I had a second or so quicker alerts at freeway speed (not scientific, just going by when I saw a cop until it registered vs V1 in similar situation.. could be equal).. The Beltronics could download updates to be programmed to alert for traffic cams in areas... The best thing was not worrying about laser.. With V1, if it alerts laser and you are speeding it is too late. With the LI system, it goes nuts if laser hits it, but it is also doing its thing and gives me a chance to slow down and turn the jammer off so when the cop hits me again he gets a reading. A relative works for King Co sheriff and they will hassle you for jamming them if they realize you're doing it... Was told the best way to avoid that is to hit the brakes while turning off the jammer once it goes off.

Escort's jammer is plug & play with their detectors.
and the new MAX 360 detector has all of the features of the V1, (directional arrows/bogey counter) but has longer range.
really, there is no advantage to the V1 any longer. Escort FTW.

By this I mean the detector identified you being hit by laser while speeding(enough they'd pull you, not 10-20 over) and you kept on going uninterrupted?
I've been hit by laser before and as soon as you get hit you're toast.

Did you ever encounter a scenario where the laser jammer saved you?

With my V1, every time I got the laser alert I got pulled over...

Yeah, I actually was never pulled over while I had the Beltronics/LI set up. Most memorable was I went on a road trip to LA and was going at least 25 over, system alerted that it was jamming, got on the brakes, disabled the jammers, detector continued reading laser, the cop stared me down as I passed and hit me a couple more times as I drove away... Not sure he knew what happened, or he was trying to make it happen again so he could pull me over for jamming him.. Another time coming over a blind crest driving back from Pullman, same thing, cop turned out and followed for a while on that one though.

I was stopped 3 times, given 2 tickets, all by laser from blind areas.. 1 from a crest in a nice curvy stretch in Arizona, 1 in a city from a motorcycle cop hidden behind a guard rail facing the exit from a tunnel, and a 3rd hit me from behind, he was in the median backed up into a small cleared "parking spot" at the end of a wooded area; I had no clue he was even there, I had to turn around at the next exit and go back to see how the hell he hid so perfectly. There is no defense for the lasers coming over crests or around curves, and it is only getting more common. I've even talked to a friend back in Florida who has been nailed even with jammers
Like I mentioned earlier, I've been driving defenseless even though I have a V1 somewhere at home because I feel the detector is only giving me a false sense of security. I feel more vigilant without relying on it given the almost 100% laser use by WSP these days... Maybe sitting in traffic on 405 also helps with keeping the speed reasonable too haha.
Fortunately, in my experience at least, it is pretty rare to get hit with laser outside of interstates and major highways...

My Escort (9500ci built in) jammer apparently saved me the other day. I got the laser notification, and the system did its thing. I got on the brakes and disabled the jamming. The DPS office looked hard at me as I went past, and he had me dead to rights. He did not leave his sheltered position at the base of an overpass. In AZ, laser is not used nearly as much as Ka radar. I should add that this is the first time in four years that I actually saw the officer pointing the laser at my car. Previous encounters have all been with radar (PHX metro area).
