Default Front caliper lettering size

So the guys who refinished the front brakes of my 996TT (for previous owner) did not bother to redo the "PORSCHE" lettering on the calipers. I'm planning to re-stencil, but don't know what size the original OEM lettering was.

My guess is that someone out there has an old OEM set of front calipers sitting in their garage, so could some kind soul who falls into that category take a ruler to the lettering and let me know the exact dimensions?

I'd like the new lettering to be an exact match for factory. Oh, my car is a plain vanilla 996TT (no upgrades or ceramics).

Thanks!

Actually, I'm looking for verification that 4" is the size that was put on by the factory.

I have my doubts, because 3" seems smaller than the lettering on my rears, and some other sets seem to use something like 3.5" all around.

Surprisingly, a fair amount of time web-searching did not uncover anyone saying "I measured the letters on my OEM calipers, and the sizes were…".

I would measure but I'm not home right now. I found this though, saying the default size is 3,5".

Yup, that is one of the sets that seems to advocate 3.5" all around, but I suspect that this "default" covers the 996 NA cars, and might not apply to the TT "big reds"…

Yet another reason that I'm hoping someone can take a ruler to their OEM calipers.

To be honest, I'm actually hoping that several folks do, because some folks might have repainted calipers, but are unaware that they are not original (so many examples being multi-owner at this point).

Wait a minute, I have pccb on my Turbo. Will the size be the same as the red calipers?

That is interesting… my rears have lettering that is more like 3.5" (75mm = 3"), so maybe the lettering on my rears is not original…

5.5mm is less than a quarter of an inch though. Which does not sound like it could be right. Typo?

The measurements are correct. The 6 piston monoblocks have larger lettering.

Thanks for confirmation.

I took a close look at the logo on my rears, and there is evidence that it is a refinish job with the 3.5-inch logos that one sees all over the place. Height was about .25-inch, so yeah, 5.5mm seems about right for 3-inch. Who knew?

I'll have to go find some 3-inch logos and redo all 4 corners.
