Turbo storage w No Charger??
Guys,
I will have the situation to leave the my 02 turbo at a vacation home. Warm climate, semi covered parking spot, but no access to electricity for a battery charger. Usually when I don't drive it for more than a few weeks I put a battery tender on it but as I mentioned, I wont have this option. What's the longest you have left your car without driving and the battery held enough charge to start right up?

I've gone about 3 weeks and the car still started, but didn't start right up, definitely struggled a bit. And after sitting for that long, when I pulled it out of the garage, turned the car off and opened the door and frunk for 10 minutes to pack the car, it wouldn't start since the lights had drained the last bit of juice. I always use a tender when it's sitting for a while now.
Disconnecting the battery and leaving the hood unlatched like PAULUNM mentioned sounds like a good option for you.

+3 disconnect or plan on replacing the battery. trickle charger is a must have for this car, unlike any I've known. ctek 3300 on amazon is about 50 bucks. you'd have it in a day..assuming you have an ac power source near enough to the parking spot. then you wouldn't have to do anything!

"Semi Covered"
Will there be enough light for one of these to work?

I wonder if keeping the car locked or unlocked makes a difference. I keep my car unlocked in my garage and have never had a problem after weeks of sitting.
Isn't there different stages of alarm and monitoring, i.e. 1 push or 2 push on the key fob, that might use different amounts of power?

I keep my car unlocked in my garage too. I know that ~2 weeks is fine, but @ 3+ weeks it holds enough charge to open the frunk, but not crank the engine.. I keep it on a battery tender now. Piece of mind...

hell, i've repositioned the emergency pull wire so it lays under the pass side headlamp and a needle nose will pull it and open the frunk. i take NO chances when it comes to the electrical demands of this car! lol

Thanks for the input. Looks like disconnecting the battery is the way to go. Although that solar charger looks interesting, disconnecting the battery makes sense. Thanks.
