I did Kevin's intake and fuel system, we discussed keeping the power below rod bending until I go completely off the edge of the earth here and open the case. This car already makes my big block muscle car feel slow at anything other than launch so I'm thinking I'll be satisfied with the power long enough to let my driving skills catch up.
Very nice! Enjoy it! What intake and fuel system did you go with?

I did the Evoms kit and Kevin makes a really sick fuel set up designed for redundancy and extra volume delivery.

1st 5th and 6th gears all made some noise that varied with throttle input. The noise didn't start in all of them at once, it progressed from noticeable to loud fairly quickly under continued use. I'd pull the drain plug and check for metal shavings, some is normal, lots is not. Put in fresh fluid, see if the noise changes and check the fluid again in 500ish miles again. If the noise didn't go away and you have lots of metal again, hopefully your screen name is apropos.

Steel is more durable. Cost is more than you might expect for a bunch of little rings.

when i had bearings issues, the noise began as a barely perceptible whine yet immediately "noticeable". 2nd and 3rd and i didn't let it go more than a day ( give or take ) before i began figuring out what to do, since it was my third trip inside a 96turbo g'box, but the first time i peas paying.

i'd bet there isn't a guy or girl here that wouldn't instantly know they had a gearbox issue.
