Making some progress finally!

Purchased the electric SPA fire system and loaded up my trailer for install at Rothsport. The Motec dash also arrived and they installed that plus a ton of small things that need to get wrapped up before track duty. I can't wait to see the new corner balance weight after I pick it up

Stopped in for progress pics a couple weeks later and should be done soon

Three fire nozzles going into the engine bay and the Motec GPS for tracking:

Looks great Scott. I'd love to see the finished product. You should plan on coming to the Miller 3-day PCA club race in September. I'll be there.

Looking good! Are you going to class the car for competition? Time Trails or W2W?

Looks like the Miller event is 9/16-9/18? I didn't see the event on their Motorsports page for sign up: http://www.motorsportreg.com/orgs/pca/intermountain

I have my SCCA Time Trial (TT) license so I'll start with that and move this car over to club racing eventually. PCA has a 'minimum # of events in the last year' rule for the rookies vs. my all time events in W2W racing. That screws me over for this year, since my car has been down for the last year

Someone needs to mark this thread as NSFW. This is downright pornographic.

Scawt do you know what month and year your car was built at the Porsche factory?

Perfect, are you familiar with the chassis stiffening that was introduced on the 996.2 chassis. Some of the late build MY2001 Turbo cars also had the stiffening added and I am trying to narrow down the the month the production changeover over occurred.

Could you do me a favor? Next time you take some photos would you mind posting a picture of the rear seat area of your car. Specifically the leading edge of rear seats.

I am enjoying watching your build, Scott. Please do keep it up!

Carlo, Scott's tub seems to be w/o the later stiffening. Pic 4 in post #1 - you should be able to see the tube through the slots at the edge of the rear seat pan. No biggie, tho. With a full cage, the tub is now considerably stiffer than any normal turbo. And lighter to boot!

I get what you are saying but I am hoping for a close up photo to be 100% sure.

Sorry for the delay in updates. Finally had the car out at the Ridge back in June and started running pig rich with boost leaks/issues after a couple laps. Long story short, I ended up missing my first SCCA race and engine/trans is coming out now for upgrades and preventative maintenance.

Pile of parts includes - Electric power steering pump conversion, K16 Markski turbos, injectors, 3" catless exhaust, Guard billet LSD, coolant fittings, hoses, gaskets, cup car cables, shifter, etc.. I don't have the time or budget for full rebuild this year and just want to get back on track

Nice list! Have you looked into a Cup style rear wing for the car? Makes a tremendous difference. Since you have MoTec, I would use the Motec DHB fuel controller to run your fuel pump on an on demand basis. Its far superior to the factory system with built in safeties and you can bypass the OEM relay all together. Very simple hook up and relatively cheap at around $600 if I recall. Really works well, drastically reduces fuel temperatures and allows you to up the fuel flow with a larger pump for the new turbos. I was running out of fuel on my K16s with the OEM pump and injectors. The pump was OK in a straight line but would be insufficient in high G corners due to the constraint of the OEM fuel system. Pump output would also decrease once fuel got hot which made the problem worse. If you don't have a way to control it, fuel heating becomes an issue on these cars once the fuel cooler is removed.

That's an Evoms pulley. The OEM aluminum 7RS pulley is solid.

Great build. Surprised you didn't go carbon doors as you've got the cage to support them.

Will be following this as it progresses. Reminds me of Dez's car.
