Regarding the roof box, I can see it's a Thule but is there a specific model you'd recommend?

Is it mounted on the Porsche Roof system?

Keep'em coming! Lol all those ads "never driven in rain", or G*d forbid snow, as if water was toxic waste!

Mine is a Thule Boxter. They still make a similar one but the name changed. It's really nice and holds tons. My 194cm skis fit easily.

Yes it is simply mounted to the Porsche factory rack.

Did you get stuck right there or make it up halfway? I would think it would make it up all the way even with these steam roller tires we have.

Haha, with snows on it would have been easy almost got to to top. It's steeper than it looks in the picture.

It looks real steep you can see it on the angle of your Rover. I've never driven mine in the snow, but I had a AWD Eclipse back in 1995 and thing went everywhere in the snow. I was impressed. It also didn't have as wide tires as these 996tt have.

Probably the only photo of my Turbo ever in snow. This was 3 years ago, no plans to drive in it ever again.

Dry roads but snow in back ground.

Here is my other car out at the same spot.
