Default Mystery input shaft bearing...

The diagrams on PET simply don't show a bearing at that location, the main shaft at the opposite end to the diff.

We measured it (in place so not necessarily accurately) 31x61.35x? but the p.no. that comes closest 99911019200 is 30x62x16 and is shown as no56 on the PET, and on the pinion shaft. Furthermore off the number taken off the bearing race itself, an N206 bearing is correctly 30x62x16.

Very confusing, unless we have made a stupid mistake somewhere, such as reading the number off the wrong bearing race. If not, then the size at least must be correct and Porsche diagrams are somewhat incorrect.

G96.50 gearbox, 996 Turbo with open diff.

Any ideas highly appreciated.

Im not a manual pro but have rebuilt a few. I think that bearing could only be a 30x62x20 or a 30x62x16. I would just double check the width at being either 16 or 20 and I think you have it. To me it looks more like a 16.

The PET diagrams are not that great. Could the bearing be #99911011701 or #99911019200?

Could be either, on Monday I hope to measure up, mechanic sort of on holiday... ! Oddly on the workshop manual the bearing is visible but with no p.no. of course.

I guess this is for the pinion shaft, just to clarify and avoid anyone getting the wrong part. The post is actually about the input shaft bearing which bearing is flanged, and is otherwise the same size 30x62x16 (excl the flange)

At the time, I had the pinion shaft bearing as 99911019200 30x62x16 INA / Torrington N206E so either your number or mine is an updated part number perhaps?

Thanks for the info all the same, it will be saved - hopefully never to be needed!

Hi !

I think that this bearing code 99911018100 with the Circlip on it ( TORRINGTON N206EN.M1.C3 ) 30x62x16 is for the input shaft ,in some days I will rebuild again a Manual gear box Type: G96/50 , so I will be back with details for all the bearings .
