Are you talking to me??

The Original Poster doesn't live in North America! I read his post and caught his location >middle of the Mediterranean Sea. I highly doubt that he want's to pay to ship his gearbox to NA, vs shipping it to Germany/Europe.

it's obvious his misguided vitriol was reserved and intended for me, and misdirected toward you.

of COURSE there are "others" than can repair a g50 box outside of colorado!? how STUPID must some people be!? fluoride in water is really taking its toll. incredible.

hey bernie. have a turkey sandwich and why not just "stfu" yourself?.. and maybe lay off the cranberry SAUCE a bit there buddy?! LOL

I wouldn't trust the guys in Colorado... Well, I would trust Cervelli, but not the other guys.

Rick,
I can give you a dozen guys in the NE when the time comes. And I'll answer your air cooled pm over the weekend.

One of the finest Gearbox guys I have ever met lives in Colorado. I do not think he does work for street cars. He works as far as I know for some motorcycle shop in bolder. However, he was the gearbox guy for many years for Penske Indy program along with other top teams in other forms of racing.

On a completely unrelated note.

You can watch him get hit by a car here..

Luckly, he also seems to be built like a truck because he didn't get hurt to badly. Just strains and bruising and a minor concussion. You can see me in front of the car (light blue shirt) on the other side of the wall.

When my car at around 20,000mi the previous owner had the 2nd gear pop out problem. We subcontracted the work to Brian Copans and he did a decent job but if it goes again I will be doing it myself. Manual gearboxes are not exactly what we are going to call a hard thing to figure out or get to function correctly. The main problem most people will have is getting the tools at a price that make it worth doing your own gearbox.

Fishey,
People are referring to a very specific gbox guy in Boulder, and it's not your guy...

if "someone" suggests to someone else they send their gearbox to colorado, they are referring to guard, and NOT g box lol. everyone knows that. or should.

I don't offer rebuilding services. I manufacture gears and lsds. I don't have time to run a rebuilding shop.

You're welcome. It's a common mistake but no big deal because I just refer folks to one of the many builders around the country who can build a good gearbox.

While there are some really good builders who just do gearboxes there are also a bunch of full service shops who have builders on staff and the right tools. I sell my parts through all of them.

Here's another couple of shots of my worn bearing that was recently replaced.

James, was that the only bearing that needed replacing?

I took my little shopping list to Porsche and all the bearings for one shaft and just two for the other one, the quote came for $3,500

I obviously won't need all of them, the less the merrier.
