Interesting I thought it was just a slightly sun bleached black also

indeed looks very nice there!

perhaps it's possible that due to it being a cabrio, that the sun has caused some ill-effects to the one for sale? (top left down while parked in sun for extended amounts of time)

Cheap 2001 996 Turbo 6sp with 126k miles @$32k in Cali

But the wheels are (imo) hideous and may reflect poorly on condition of vehicle... (again, my opinion)

Nicer 2002 Turbo 6speed with 64k miles and nice basic mods. Silver/black and can't tell but looks like wheels are 19"?

In VA and pictures seem to show good condition!

Priced quite well for miles and current owner says he owned it for 7 years... $44k

Agree with your opinion, and would extend it to that piano black interior trim. Haven't seen exhaust tips that asymmetric, that's engine mounts right?

Anyone know anything about this one? 66k mile 2002 for only 36k in Houston TX. Wonder what is wrong with it. It's been for sale since November, but it looks clean. Tiptronic is a negative, but this seems like a relatively clean example that's priced several thousand below what I'd expect.

Same with this one. 2001 with 66.5k miles. Auto. Engine bay looks clean. Wing is a bit gaudy, but doesn't offend me. Wheels aren't my favorite. But I still would expect this one to command at least high 30's if not low 40's. Seller is asking 35.9k OBO. I guess the check engine light "due to the exhaust" has scared people away. Looks like it's been for sale for approximately 4 months.

I would guess it's the tip on the two that you posted.

Interesting. Works for me. While I'd absolutely prefer the manual, if I can get an auto and do a paddle shift conversion like a few on RL have done and do it for ~15% less I'll take that.

That is what I did. I love the Tip with paddle shift. It works great on track.

And the torque converter in the Tip trans has a torque multiplying stator built in. It gives the car bit more low end than a 6 speed.
