Hi gang, Question about Clutch slave cylinder
Anyone have a ballpark on the cost to replace a leaking one?
I appreciate it! May be getting back into a TT and the one I am looking at has a leaker

its about a 600+/- part and ya gotta drop the trans a bit and/or lower the rear mounts to get at it, and it needs to be on a lift. so it's either gonna take you, or a tech a cpl/few hours to r&r. so a grand+/- all in if you use a shop. less if you diy. a bad slave would not dissuade me from an otherwise well kept car. they are a common point of failure.

hows the clutch action? and is the accumulator also working as it should e.g. smooth hydraulically assisted "feel" whenever when you engage the pedal? even engine off?

When the slave is bad fluid is forced forward and usually is seen as a leak/overfill= slave needs replaced as explained above, accumulator is usually replaced at same time. I see answered above while typing .

I suggest when you replace the slave replace the accumulator at the same time!
Oops I already saw that it was suggested!
The clutch in these cars is power assisted from the power steering pump, a check valve goes in the slave and as already mentioned allows the pentosin to back into the master and cause overflow?
