Well, since they share quite a few on the same parts,it would seem like you would be comparing a v6 camaro, ( entry level as you would say) to an ss camaro. You could always cut to the chase and tell them that your car is better that theirs, the no nonsense approach.

That's true, you never said that. Sounds like one heck of a build to get your S2 performing like a turbo. What did you do to get this level of performance?

Well, I just kept it simple and it has a Vortech 5.3L L33 Engine.

Its only a streetcar for fun, I need to get back to putting it back together but I am side tracked with other stuff right now.

That's good fun there. The best of both worlds. Probably much more fun than the 996 on the street as well.

I like to describe the new Porsche line up to a non Porsche person by using cost brackets, grouping the cars in the appropriate bracket. This gives them an idea and is quick and easy. If the discussion goes deeper, its personal preference.

Among car enthusiasts, I don't generally find that level of misunderstanding.

As for people who are not car enthusiasts, I don't think it matters.

In terms of establishing some kind of Porsche hierarchy, I'd say that there isn't really any valid method of establishing one. I guess one could use MSRP, but that doesn't tell you anything about what the specific model brings to the table in terms of the "driving experience". You could also use some kind of objective performance number mix, but that would be difficult and it would miss the very important assessments made under the title of "subjective assessments", which are made based on individual preferences.
