IIRC, automatic rain sensing wipers are standard on 02+

There is some differences in stereo wiring as well with the advantage clearly going towards the earlier model years (01-02 I think are the same)

After 2003 I know your spending mega money to swap it out.

03 and later switched to the digital controlled can/bus system for the stereo system. The stereo is now fiber optic routed and it is difficult to connect an aux input into the system, re: Dennsion adapter. Can be done relatively simply, but not cheap, $500.00 or so.

04 introduced the Turbo S which incorporated the X50 power upgrade with the PCCB carbon ceramic brakes. It also has a nicer nav system, but still not very good.

Good luck. Post pics when you find one.

Hi there. thanks for the notice. Yes. I still enjoy the car. passed 75k and it still runs great. Did brake fluid replacement and cleaned the radiators last month. I have been working 20 hours OT per 2 weeks so I'm really busy. I work at three different offices. One is out on the SF bay coast and love to take the car to work. but the fog has been really thick, so I often don't go there due to the possibility of rust and corrosion. I need to do a road trip soon. maybe all the High Sierra Passes. Load the TT up with camping gear and firewood and turn it into the ultimate SUV. I still smile whenever I get in an drive. Such a great car!

PAG screwed up the information from the start, placing the 996 improvement in stiffness in the 996 Turbo literature by mistake. They never corrected the information as it was just like saying the "F-word" in front of your mother....you can't take it back.

given you cannot produce any documents showing it was a literary mistake(!?) and many here and elsewhere have proffered porsche's own documents showing the 996 turbo was indeed torsionally stiffened for the model years 02 onward, i'm going to stay with PORSCHE'S DOCUMENTS ( absent DOCKuments ) as statements of fact, rather than your continual fall back position and argument and the highly controvertible and contrarian "evidence" that posits that because "well my "friend" at pag says,.. and i know their literature to be wrong" etc ad nauseum and all to no avail.

LOL

PS urban LEGEND. Roman LEGION lol

I test drove quite a few 996T when I was looking to buy and the one thing that was very clear to me was that the 2003 & 2004 models felt way stiffer than the 2001 ones. This is all the proof that I personally need.
