Default 2001 996 Turbo Evom question

I have a 2001 911 turbo. My MAF sensor just went out. It has the original Bosch in there. BUT...... It has the EVOM vflow air intake system kit... I looked at the ECU and it still has "bosch" ECU in there, not sure if it was updated. I am getting 1 bar of boost. Should I replace with Bosch or get the Hitachi MAF sensor?

This is the kit I have . http://www.evomsit.com/EVOMS_PR_996TT_HITACHI.htm

meaning you dont know if the tuning was actually evoms? i would put the hitachi maf given the intake is designed by them to accommodate the hitachi maf. 1.0 is a k16 tune.

I'm not so sure you get an ECU with the upgrade, most times it's just a software download, which negates any ECU swap out!

you either have a Bosch OR Hitachi MAF (and the tuning to work with it), replace with Bosch if that's what is there.

If that's the exact kit you bought, you need the Hitachi MAF sensor to replace it. The MAF tube is designed to accept the Hitachi sensor, and the tune is designed for the Hitachi's MAF transfer curve.

Give me a call for information on a replacement sensor or to order one, 480-317-9911 and ask for Sam.

Replace it with the Bosch unit.
The Hitachi unit requires a different ecu set up specifically for it and cost over 1k.

The Bosch unit is fine up to 600 hp. After that it can not meter properly.

His car is already set up for the Hitachi sensor. He needs a replacement, which is around $250.
