Default SOLVED: PSM and ABS lights on undriveable

My buddy's 03 has the lights go on this weekend while on the freeway. Lights went off then came back on after a short stop at a friend's house. The lights stay on and the car is very squirrelly. To keep the car straight the steering wheel is now perpendicular from its normal centered position i e the crest is on its side.

Any thoughts? We think it's mecahnical. Maybe a broken tie rod or bushings on a control arm?

Being towed this morning. Fingers crossed

No way of telling without physically looking, could be many things. Good luck.

Car goes to the mechanic tomorrow. Over the phone discussing the symptom mechanic thinks it is something along the lines of broken tie rod, but as stated, hard to say w/o looking

Will update

Thanks ALLUC for starting the thread for me. I'm a new member, although I've been using Rennlist for the past couple of years. Time for me to start contributing!

Mechanic said my toe link was broken causing the odd steering and ABS and PSM lights to go off. Thank goodness it didn't happen when driving aggressively. Thanks everyone for your help, love my car and love this site.

At least that shouldn't have been too expensive. Welcome to the club.

Thanks RMC, love the fraternity feel of this website. We can all enjoy and commiserate together. $800 including alignment. Cost of owning a Porsche in California! For those who are interested, I posted pics of my 2003 TT in the "Forest Green" thread. It's been a dream of mine to own a 911 since I was a kid, just pinch me!

Hopefully nest repair wont be an emergency situation and you can do it yourself= would have been cheaper.
