Clutch question, 996 C2 vs. 996TT
So I had a 996 C2. Now have a 996TT.
The TT clutch feels easier/smoother to push to the floor. I know all clutches are have different feels. But is it just the car, or do the two models have some kind of different clutch?
Just curious.

The clutch hardware is also different but how this might affect the differences in how the clutches feel I have no idea.
If you want some idea of what the Turbo clutch would feel like sans any boost, you can do this: With the engine off fully depress the clutch pedal and then release it. Repeat a number of times. At some point you will have used up all the boost stored in the clutch accumulator reservoir and the clutch pedal requires more effort to depress and then you will experience the effort it requires to work the clutch sans any boost.

The clutch accumulator and slave on these cars can fail. The accumulator provides residual assist when the car is off. What happens is a check valve in the slave cylinder goes bad, and power steering fluid leaks back to the master clutch cylinder, which overflows the master cylinder reservoir. Net net, you should replace the slave and accumulator. A good symptom is the clutch gets hard, and engages at different travels.
