Default Are we all like minded

Is it fair to assume that the majority of 996 turbo owners have a good knowledge base of their cars and its needs? I couldn't see not at least being active in forums or knowing the cars needs.

I just remember all the idiots who drove a corvette just because it said corvette. Is that alive and well in the Porsche community?

If you're on the forum, you likely have some knowledge of your car. Before the interwebs, I had to scour manuals and talk to mechanics to figure out my problems. Today, I just have to post a question to a forum and sit back and wait for someone to tell me to use search to find the answer.

true, and i can now actually have a "halfway" knowledgeable discussion about these cars at meets and impromptu canyon rest stops where they gather and i attribute it all to this place and the 6spd funhouse.

i didn't know sh*t when i first got it, and my FIRST series of educations was having la's largest area porsche dealership tell me that had NO IDEA what 2nd gear pop out was! and denied me my warranty claim. which i immediately reversed in my favor by contacting PCNA as i've not only battled with entities much larger than myself but used to do "battle" for a living and had even fought with them over my 993 eons ago.

i could NEVER have done that w/out the info i gleaned here and on the 6. it was that "ammo" that turned the trick so to speak. it also didn't/couldn't hurt that i had my attorney threaten a class action suit for the 2nd gear pop LOL the reason i joined here as I've never paid a website before either as i recently have here and it's only out of sheer gratitude for the help I've gotten in spite of my often contentious and cantankerous ways here.

( well, there was that one site once "girls r us" hah )
