Instrument cluster Freak Out
So I have this partial carbon interior and it's peeling off in many places one of which was the cluster shroud. So I took it off to replace it with an overlay but when I plugged it all back in the cluster is lit up like a Christmas tree.
All the lights are on....tons of warning messages,,,,but yet car drives fine and all gauges, odometer works.
Anyone ever have this experience?
(Remove cluster...re-install.....light show freak out)
I can't remember if I cycled on the key while disconnected...I know that's a no no in 993's. I did that when replacing my steering wheel and the dealer had to clear an airbag code.
But is this a trip to dealer? anyone know any specific procedure i was supposed to follow upon removal?.....ever happen to anyone?

Did you disconnect the battery before you unplugged the unit?
If not try doing it now.

I would disconnect battery and remove cluster, look for burnt spots/shorts. If everything looks good try reinstalling making sure connectors are secure. Always unhook battery before such work.

have you checked the codes with obd2?
also not sure if it matters but when disconnecting the battery I would leave it disconnected for at least 20 mins before connecting.

think you must have accidently cycled the key...most likely you need to reset via PIWIS or Durametric

When I had my cluster in & out a couple times, part of the cluster was "dead" because I hadn't fully seated one of the plugs. They can give you a false sense that they are installed if the locking lever doesn't fully engage. It's more typical for gauges to be unresponsive, but you may have partial connection. The first thing I would do is unplug & replug the three connectors.
If the condition doesn't clear up, PM me - I have a good independent repair source.
