Agree but what's 10 bucks matter I waste that much at the convenience store everyday lol. If someone's happy with the quality/price I say buy it, me Ill pay the extra and not have to think about it.

The direct cost to manufacture a specific o-ring doesn't have much to do with what a company needs to charge for it.

I actually paid $9.54 including tax for the o-ring I purchased at Hennessy Porsche here in Atlanta. In many restaurants/bars, that's cheaper than a glass of wine or a draft beer (with tip). I can't take my family out to a nice restaurant and have some appetizers, main meal, drinks, and desert for much less than $200 with tip. So $9.54 for the o-ring?? It's just not a big deal to me at all (yrmv).

I'm sure violins are playing for you somewhere, but not at my place.

With that kit one might be able to get the o-ring unit price down to 1 or 2 cents each!

May be they are better then they use to be but often had breaks when used in past. I worked for a chemical company and they didn't hold up. I totally understand saving money but most guys with 996ts drop thousands in mods but often complain about required maintenance cost. Not aimed at you mcbit just adding my 2 cents lol.

We do a lot of work with hydraulics and provided that they are made up correctly there really are no issues. Wouldn't recommend an NBR o ring with an ester oil though.

They would often come apart when used in pumps so we went back to one piece premade. Probably better quality as this was close to 8yrs ago. I'm to lazy/**** I will keep paying for OEM.

I no longer have time or inclination to work on my own cars; mine are indy serviced with OP parts. I take a interest on the work going on with my car, but at the end of the day, I just drive them. I wouldn't scrimp on an o ring for my car, but there's a lot of stuff that makes economic sense at work.

Do you take the o-ring off hot?

Sorry, couldn't resist. Still thinking about burning yourself because that is the proper way.

Hot, cold, shaken or stirred...
Cost of washers...

How much difference does a half quart of used oil in with 8 new and a new filter really matter if you're changing every 3k, or more often if tracking?

Mahle filter & Mobil1 have been my standby in other cars and this one too. Just ordered some 5-50 that I'm looking forward to using.

The spark plugs should be removed hot too hahaha
