Default Any drawbacks with 4S front lip spoiler on 996T

My wheel alignment centre badly damaged my front lip spoiler. They said they will pay for the replacement one.
I am always scraping it as well and thinking replacing it with a 4S spoiler in the hope of more clearance.
My question is will the 4S spoiler upset the aerodynamics of the car and create less front down force.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I seriously doubt that you would ever notice any difference in down force/handling with the 996 C4S front lip.

I your car at OEM ride height?

you must be running lower. I installed an ebay aero spoiler, sticks out somewhat, doesn't usually hit anything. But I have popped it off by hitting a curb a few times. Pops right back on.

jim, do it;'ll be fine and you'll have that extra minor bit of clearance for unexpected road debris. I'm sure mine has saved me a front rad a time or two. plus i think they look better, but thats entirely subjective. i hate the stock tt lip. yes, hate lol

Thanks gents, I'm going for the 4S. I agree with you Mark i also think it looks way better than the stock one.

Do you take potentially threatening elevation changes at an angle to help reduce the chance of a front lip scrape?

I really like both spoilers but prefer the Turbo= either one would be fine with the c4s giving better clearance as noted.

Yes I do try to steer it to the best angle possible.

I also prefer the 996 Turbo OEM front spoiler lip; wouldn't have anything else.

My 996 Turbo is on X73 suspension, and I rarely scrape the front lip. I'm still on the original.

I am guessing my car is a fair bit lower than yours.

Oh, I've scraped it before, just not very often at all (I'd call it rarely). When I have scraped it it has been only very lightly.
