Default DIY 996TT Pad replacement

I did a search on RL but couldn't seem to find a section that discusses how to replace the pads on my 996TT. Any help/link would be appreciated.

996TT brake pad replacement is exactly the same as on a Boxster. All the components are bigger, but they follow an identical layout.

Good Luck!

if you have PCCB calipers the procedure is slightly different than the small 4 piston brakes, but similar and easy to do

Instead of using a random tool to push back the pads and pistons, get a piston spreader. It makes it that much easier and faster. You really dont want to deal with a piston going in, and the other side coming out.

I bought mine from a local surplus store for $10 CAD.

As well- after you've changed all your pads, BEFORE you start your car, pump the brake pedal to get pressure back into the pedal.

It's a super easy job with any monoblock calipers and the retaining pins. Good luck!
