Default Any experience with FVD Brombacher Tuning

Any one with experience with FVD Brombacher Tuning. I think a Turbo I'm interested in has the software upgrade that raises the hp to 490. The owner says no track time on the car. Why the modification if not doing track time? Can the engine be put back to stock without much trouble? Thanks for your inputs.

The reason for me to do the tune even though I don't track is that it is much more fun to drive with better low end response, more power earlier, more power overall and especially more torque. But that's just me.

If the current owner did the upgrade, he should have received a file with both the upgraded tune and original tune from FVD Brombacher along with an OBD-2 cable. It's easy to switch between tunes if you have a windows laptop with a USB port.

I have the tune on my car and I have to say it really wakes the car up. Boost comes on earlier and stronger. Huge fun!

Thanks for the information. The current owner did not do the upgrade tune and does not have the original file and cable. So how would you reverse it?

Try contacting FVD directly and ask them what your options would be. You'll need to have the VIN handy.

I was looking at a car with their exhaust, emailed them. Rhonda from FVD got right back to me and was very helpful. That is all I know from personal experience. I see though, as I write this reply, that Rhonda@FVD responds to lots of posts on the 997 board. Maybe search for that user name and see what you come up with on other threads....if you have not already.

You can overwrite the software by simply having it updated at any Porsche Dealer if you so choose, that is if you don't have the original cable or tool with the car.
