Replace my shocks or go for coil overs.

Rothsport Racing did the corner balance and track alignment. They are great to work with and local to me in OR. I went with the Ohlins DFV and Tarett setup (see sig below). I also increased the spring rates on the Ohlins but not needed for street use.

I believe you were at Sunset last year when I was dropping off my car...adding a new clutch and having the coolant pipes welded.

jim..
got some encouraging news on my MO30 "search".. just something you may want to consider since you and i are like minded in our usage of the car. MO30's are no joke
New genuine units are $450/ea for fronts, and $500/ea for rears. Heavy duty Bilstein (slightly stiffer than genuine) is $300/ea for fronts, and $400/ea for rears. This does not include strut bearings, bump stops, dust sleeves, etc.
this may be my next upgrade, as i KNOW i dont wan't/need coil overs

It seems like a more straight forward solution, it also seems that there have been a lot of issues with adjustable coil overs.
These shocks are better than the OEM ones, they have better rebound which reduces lean in fast bends, so stays flatter in corners.

Race Car
I was looking for a car with stock suspension and the one I bought had the cheap K Sports. It rides pretty rough and I thought about going back to stock.
Then I drove a couple of students cars on the track at maybe 4/10ths.
What a difference! I could never go back to the soft stock set up.

I am joining in on the discussion. I have a 2003T (64k mi)that seems to have OEM shocks. I was thinking of going to the B6 Bilsteins. Fun road only, no track, weekend car. And I see a lower price now on Tire Rack. $299F and $276R. Would also replace replace strut bearings at this time. Very close to going with this? I think coil overs is way more than I need.

The H&R RSS coilovers are soft enough for the street. They are low though. I have rear a max height and it is still super low. If your wondering if they are to stiff they are not. I would like them a lot stiffer. Wouldn't bother with the H&R street version unless you want more height.

This is the kind of feedback I've been looking for. Can you let us know how they perform on a spirited run, does it stay flatter into the corners?
Did you need to do any other mods or was it just the coil overs with no complications ?
I'm a bit worried about clearance, can you let me know your clearance height of the front spoiler.
Cheers

So the bracket for front tie rods broke from rusting, we dont have any salt on our roads here so this might not be an issue for me.
Do these feel and perform similar to your PSS9's ?

Yes they feel similar, though I think my shop set them to soft. I mostly use the car for track and would have wanted them more stiff.

I had H&R coil overs on this car below and found that the lower I had them the stiffer they were. Are you able to lower it any further to see if it stiffens it up for the track.
