Thanks for all the responses, much appreciated. Would really like the KW V3.
I am getting some quotes and will report back with my decision.
The Australian dollar has taken a battering, deciding might take much longer than I thought.

blockhead's advice is sage and his rep/knowledge have been well established here and elsewhere over the years and for good reason. but there isn't a "street" tt alive that "needs" corner balancing for anything less than full on track assaults...

just ask your alignment guy to put a sack of potatoes in the drivers seat lol

Thanks for your feedback.
Wow that's a pretty big statement, sounds like you've tried them. Were they really that bad?

The front shocks have really poor weak bracket to tie in the tie rods, rust out and break off, leaving you having to replace both of them eventually. They are gas filled shocks and no mechanic would to try and weld a fix to that area. I would never use them again. When they were not broken they rode fine and improved the handling of the car by a lot. I am replacing mine with HR RSS coil overs, half the price and look much stronger in that area compared with the Bilstiens.

Well that's a pretty bad experience, I have heard that the drop links tend to break.
I awlays thought H&R Coil overs use Bilstein shocks.

They do use the Bilstein shock but they are designed differently.

Ok got it thanks, would the H&R RSS be too stiff for street use? Have you been for a ride or drive in a car with these ?
I do like a firmer ride but not spine shattering stiff.

They also have the street version which would be more soft. Being installed this week so I have not tried them yet.

I am not sure the street version has the same tie rod bracket design as the RSS version.

Will do, have a DE this weekend and my local streets around here are pure crap which is a very good test for them. Probably take a photo of the bracket as well.

Jumper, I am interested to see/hear how your setup works. I still have stock suspension and will see you at Mosport.

James88,

What are you looking for: street only, mostly street some track, some street mostly track?

I went with the KW V3's and they were good but not great for the track. Then went with full blown MOTON PRO's.

Ohlins DFV's have good reviews. Check out the 6Speed forum.

It is tough deciding what you need/want vs what you want to pay, ranging from $2K to $8K per set up.

Quick Reply: Replace my shocks or go for coil overs.
