Nothing compelling about this car except its price. Based on just scant evidence it appears unloved and used hard. You can pay now or pay later with these cars. This is an example of a pay later car.

If you're planning on spending 35k bumping up to 40k will open you up to better kept cars with lower mileage. 5k is a drop in the bucket. Deals are out there and don't be antsy to pull the trigger. I looked at this car but didn't want black. Good car and they will negotiate.

Hell I could pay 60k for a car if I wanted to. Truth be told I could prob go buy a new one if I realy wanted too. I don't ant to spend the money. What I want is a 996 turbo (also looking for a 964 non-turbo) that has some mods, as I would want a few if I bought a stock car, but would not want to modest a stock one. Ball park I would take a stock car, and do something like the EVOMS stage up to, but not including, new turbos...bigger inter coolers... billstein PPS10 suspension....new wheels....maybe a GT2 nose and tail, etc......again a shame to do that to a stock car IMHO.

I agree on the outside this one is not clean and pretty. I do know enough about car detailing to know a good detail and this car would look amazing...minus a few small details like the wing and brake caliper. I also trust the mechanic who has had it in his care since 2006 implicitly. He did the clutch, brakes, turbos, etc. He says it is in great shape mechanicaly, and not really been driven much or hard since 2006. It's never seen a track, etc. He knows these cars, and ferrari's, and Lambo's, and AMG Benz's, etc. He thinks it is a very solid car mechanically.

I will do a full PPI, including a co press ion check, coolant hose check, boost/vacuum leak check, over boost check, etc. More to come when I see the invoices and know exactly has been done.

And please keep the advice coming. I really appreciate it.

What state has it been spending time in lately? The engine deck latch looks beat up and corroded.

It has livd in Florida since 06, and passed through a friends hands in the process. Once cleaned up it would be Ina garage and stay nice and clean.

That Turbo needs a lot of cleaning up.

How about some pictures of the interior.

The lug bolts are some of the rustiest I've seen. Certainly have been exposed to copious amounts of salt or some other corrosive substance with little washes in between.

And the yellowed and crazed headlamps? Another sign of neglect.

Agreed.

I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of the interior.
