Back in a Porsche!
Hi there -
Thanks for all the great information on the 996t, made my decision to get one that much easier! I picked up a blk/blk 03 x50 one at the end of February. I had a 92 C2 that got hit and have always missed driving a 911 since. Look forward to getting it on the track where it can actually be used!

Couple of pics
I'm looking forward to sunny drive soon, got it 3 days before leaving on vacation then came back to rain...
The guy before me set it up with pss10s, H&R rear bar with drop links, numeric, and FVD steering wheel. Need to put the shifter and wheel back on this weekend since they were taken off by previous owner to sell separate.
Car was well maintained and other than a brake fluid flush, it's ready to drive. So nice to buy a car that I don't feel like I need to modify right away to make faster or handle better!
Will probably put up on the lift this weekend to take a closer look at stuff and do the clean leaves, flush coolant, etc. so I feel good about everything being a go before driving a bunch.
One thing I noticed is there are no 315/30-18 PSS2's available to replace the ones that are almost to the bars on the inner side.
What do you think of running some of the NT-01's for mostly dry and occasional light rain road duty? The car will be to the track several times this year too; cheaper than the tickets you get passing a slowpoke in the left lane with the HOV! Love how this thing goes from 60-130ish too easy
One other thing - he looks like he wants a ride and I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep dog hair out of it!

great steering wheel, and shifter. nice pickup! enjoy it!
add: while i know nothing about nt01's as I've only run ps2 or currently pss up front, ( yes, there will never be any PSS in 315/30/18 ...now i run pirelli p zero 315/30 on a 12" rear.. I'm not so sure you'll appreciate mixing tread types if your car is stock awd.
rwd gives one a lot more latitude vis a vis tire sizes and types. but if there is ONE thing i have learned and am certain of, do NOT skimp on tires on a 100+K/400+hp car.
they "N" rate specifically for this car but two ( any more?? ) of them for a reason. ps2 and p zero. well worth the stability = peace of mind. ymmv. good luck!

Burning Brakes
Nice find. Looks very good... and your dog too.
I used to take my dog everywhere in my old Boxster with top down. He loved it.... the 911's rear seat is too small for him now.
Enjoy in good health!!

i certainly agree the track tires should be thought of like track wheels. not michelin unless cups, just forget it
but conversely, cheap tires for any spirited driving in canyons will display their "shortcomings" in due course and even dangerously so.

Thanks for your thoughts on the tires. I'm going to check my wheel's integrity after reading some horror stories of cracks/breakage and will probably get some OZ with NT-01's for the track this year. My PS2's have enough tread to last through the summer I think if I don't beat them too much.
