Default Wing will not lower on one side

Ya, I searched. I wish people would put their issue in the heading.

Wing will only come down on one side. Other than that works fine. lol

I did push it down with very little effort and removed the fuse.

Only a drop or 2 of fluid in the caps.

Any ideas gents?

It doesn't take much fluid loss for the spoiler to act up. The system has a very small capacity. Sounds like you might be able to bleed it. Some have used power steering fluid with stop leak with success. I did not ! I replaced the system. There is a place that rebuilds the system at a much less cost. They mostly talk cabriolet top system, but they do rebuild spoiler units

It does seem like the wing problem and various solutions should become a sticky!

lucas stop leak and pentosin 50/50 mix. a few fills to adjust for equality btw sides, and if you know ( or have help? ) how to DIY this ( there are full step by step diy's in here.. seen em! ) that will solve your issue. make sure the banjo's are tightened!

Interesting. I probably need to do something about mine bc it's got a very slight leak on both sides.

Or leave it up or buy a fixed spoiler.

I'm thinking if it has been slightly wet and survived this long maybe top it up every couple of years?

If you do decide to top it try 02996ttx50 suggestion of stop leak.

I thought people were having trouble going up?

My problem is going down. Or am I mistaken?

You can also watch it here:

Good luck. My refill and motor fix lasted about 2 months.

that could be as "simple" as it not raising high enough to trigger the micro-switch. so it doesn't "know" it's supposed to be fuly deployed, and yet "partially" is. just a thought, and a plausible explanation of why it will not signal it to deploy back down. (?!)

Microswitch is only on one side the passenger side. So if the passenger side is the side working okay then the system thinks the drivers side is following suite. I suspect its the lack of fluid causing this or internals of the pump are not pressurizing the ram enough, or the ram is having internal leak, or the system is just plain low.
