In the car with its pristine interior . So i checked the GT2 kit out . My OPC in UK can
Supply and also Carnewal have it for €90 . Gert says it has to be trimmed to fit the tt
Though .
THe kit includes a plastic tire bag so it won't dirty up your interior should you ever need it. I keep the spare and take it out for track days. The sealant works if you have slow leak but pretty useless if you blow a tire.

I took my spare wheel out because i doubt i would use it and have to try and get a wheel.

Don't follow your thinking on this -- you DOUBT you will need the spare -- why, you never drive your car?

On a related note- did the 996 GT2/PCCB equipped 996 turbos come with an inflatable spare?

I recently upgraded my brakes to 996 GT3 calipers front and rear- I have a sneaking suspicion my spare would no longer fit over the front 6 piston calipers (and 997tt 350mm rotors).

Am I incorrect?

GT2's come with a sealant/repair kit, no spare.
IIRC, there is an expensive spare wheel/tire available for PCCB 996/7 from Porsche

Interesting. This is the only spare wheel I'm finding in online parts catalogs for the 996. I assume this is not the correct part- 99636202004

Not sure about that, My Cayenne Turbo has larger rotors and has a very similar spare tire. As well fits 18" winter wheels, big diff from my normal 20" wheels. The 996 Turbo can also run 17" wheels so I don't think the GT2's calipers where the reason they didn't add a the full spare. They did it for weight savings.

99636202004 is the correct one for PCCB cars.
Caliper clearance was the issue vs 'standard' spare

once you use sealant the tire is wrecked, out of balance and the wheel needs to be cleaned of an awful mess. I would never use a sealant again (first one was about 25 years ago)unless the technology changed.
I use CAA or when in US AAA for a flatbed if I get a flat.

My thinking - in the crowdwed UK i can be relayed to a tyre shop or home free by my insurance breakdown cover within an hour . If i was planning to use the spare i would have to get
It in the car with any passenger . I would have to hope for a safe place to change and that
The tools and weather were adequate to succesfully change and not damage my ceramics .
