Absolutely, any light solvent, like alcohol, without lubricant(ie, no WD40) in it works great!

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
The answer lies in strip to long block for ease of install, i should know by now that stuff like this always requires more work than initially planned!
Cool to get to know this motor so well, will make lots in future seem easy.

Great read. I had a recent "rapid coolant loss" and the engine compartment is covered in a fine mist of coolant. Can I just spray some Simple Green and hose it off? I want to get this slime off before it attracts a bunch of dust and dirt.

Though hitting water is not the same as coolant. Coolant is very slippery and sticks to the tire for a long time while water basically is a damp spot on track, unnoticable really. Think everyone should run water wetter as there is nothing worse then hitting coolant even if its just a damp spot on the pavement. The only reason I don't remove the awd is for this reason. It's saved my car muliple times but only these times I've run over it.
well put. Our club finally succumbed, need to do the prophylactic work for the two times per year I do track the turbo...

Happened to me yesterday on lap ten...

Time to get them done. We'll put it up on Monday and see which fitting it is.
