Default How to detach rear spoiler from hydraulic rams, manually?

Hey guys, finally decided to check out what was going on with the spoiler. Hydraulic leak from both rams as well as pump. Pump does work.

Spoiler would raise more on one side than other, preventing it from fully raising. To separate spoiler from cylinders you must have it in a fully raised position. Obviously for me this isn't possible as the spoiler does not fully raise.

So my questions is without the hydraulic pump raising the spoiler, how can you manually raise the spoiler? I have tried searching for this answer, no success.

I'd like to send the pump and cylinders of to be rebuilt.

Thanks for the help everyone.

You are misunderstanding my question. In order to separate the cylinders from the spoiler, it has to be fully extended. Mine partially extends.

On a side note, could a crooked raised wing with a leaking ram be caused by air entrapment?

you've got to get the wing up and away from the decklid and once you have unfettered access to the rams/pump et al, you can with a 12v power source raise the rams to there fully extend height. this is also how you will "manually/electrically?!) raise/lower them until you've determined the fluid level are both correct and "even" l/r.

only the best diy'r can tackle this and you may be one but i am not. my tech did the whole process with deckled off in a cpl hours incl disassemble and r&r. i watched of course.

Thanks for the input. I went ahead and tried replacing the hydraulic fluid and adding some stop leak, to see if that will solve my problem, if not then I'll send it off.

Unfortunately a banjo bolt connecting to the ram is lost in the engine bay, even while having it covered. Tried looking for it with a magnet but no luck.

Does any know the part number by any chance?

Did a quick search which didn't turn up much. I already bled the other line, but I suppose I'll have to disconnect and bring to part store to find a matching one.

Lucid, I've got some spare parts lying around. If you run into trouble getting that part pm me with your mailing address and I'll send you one.

Fortunately Sanyata had some extras and was nice enough to send me one. Unfortunately no dealerships around me. I'll update when it's done to see if it functions properly. Thanks guys

Thank you, already have the tool, another member helped me with my answer. The wing is spring loaded, I felt I was applying enough pressure to force the wing up, but apparently it takes more.

Just remove bolts from inside the trunk. Ram pulls out.

My questions has been answered. The wing is spring loaded, and takes a good amount of force to lift, once lifted, place some sort of prop that doesn't scratch the paint to detach the wing. Thanks everyone.
